A Collection of Many Experiences

Collages are one of my favorite art mediums, as one doesn’t need to create everything from scratch, there is almost a collection process, and the creativity is how things are presented or grouped together. This is similar to people in many ways, like how writer Maria Popova shares here: "We are a collage of our interests, our influences, our inspirations, all the fragmentary impressions we've collected by being alive and awake to the world. Who we "are" is simply a finely curated catalog of those." It becomes freeing to embrace all of our own little details, like we do in a collage. We can look at ourselves with more curiosity and interest when we seek to notice where each piece of the puzzle came from. We are interesting! Our own stories and identities are art, and a sense of self-esteem can be gathered with that thought.

"We are a collage of our interests, our influences, our inspirations, all the fragmentary impressions we've collected by being alive and awake to the world. Who we "are" is simply a finely curated catalog of those."
