Following Happiness

Many of my perfectionist, or otherwise anxious clients worry often if they are making the “right” decisions. Unfortunately, I can’t tell them what the right choices are. Neither can anyone else. The only one who can know what the “right” thing to do is themselves, because it is their life to live, with their own values and feelings involved. However, I like this bit of guidance from Teresa of Avila, “Any real ecstasy is a sign you are moving in the right direction.” While anxiety can get in the way, and trauma can make you question if good things are really good, following happiness is a good guide through the darkness towards a brighter future.

“Any real ecstasy is a sign you are moving in the right direction.”

~ Teresa of Avila
