Living Like An Artist
When people say to “keep it simple”, they make it sound so easy, but it isn’t. Like author Charles de Lint compared, "Life is like art. You have to work hard to keep it simple and still have meaning." Art is hard to perfect! We often overthink things, keep adding because we don’t feel like it is good enough, go back and try to correct every mistake, only to realize that some mistakes leave a lasting mark, and we get lost in the mess. Artists often learn through trial and error, feedback, and embracing what makes them shine, what they already excel at, and work to further grow simply for the enjoyment. That is life too! Slow down, take some time to reflect upon what you have learned, seek feedback and lessons from others, and enjoy the process of making your life.
"Life is like art. You have to work hard to keep it simple and still have meaning."
