Spend Time on Those You Love

I’ve seen people go through phases of online quizzes, self-help guides, and personality tests, all to figure out how to best give and receive love. Love Languages is a common idea to get stuck on. However, I find that most people just want to feel valued. Like Ancient Greek philosopher, Theophrastus, once proclaimed: "Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend." People feel loved when you show that they are worth your time and efforts. I think most of the love languages are really just trading your time to an endeavor for the sake of the person you care about (e.g. quality time, acts of service, and even gifts are either trading your labor earning the money to buy the gifts or the time spent searching for the right gift). If you want to show someone that you love them, prioritize them when you decide how to spend your most valuable resource: your time.

"Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend."

~ Theophrastus
