The Office Space

I’ve designed my office space to be a place where you can exhale—a space that feels safe, comfortable, and supportive of your needs. Every detail has been intentionally chosen to create an environment that fosters reflection, regulation, and a sense of ease.

The Waiting Area

For those who arrive early or have someone waiting for them, the waiting room offers a quiet, welcoming space. It includes:

  • A water dispenser with hot, cool, and cold water options

  • A selection of sweet and salty snacks

  • Powdered drink mixes such as hot chocolate, apple cider, Crystal Light, coffee, and creamers

  • Two white noise machines set to a gentle babbling brook, ensuring both relaxation and privacy

  • Restroom access with a key available for use (the restroom is located outside of my suite but is nearby)

This space is meant to be a moment of calm before or after sessions, helping ease the transition into therapy.

Since I am the only clinician in my practice, and I don’t share my office suite, you don’t have to worry about running into people you might know or having to share this space with others when you are here. I purposefully leave at least 15 minutes between appointments to help your sense privacy and safety in the waiting space.

The Therapy Offices

I have two office spaces, each offering a cozy, low-pressure environment where you are encouraged to settle in, take what you need, and engage in therapy in a way that works for you.

  • Individual Office: A more intimate space for one-on-one sessions, with comfortable seating and a grounding atmosphere.

  • Larger Office: Designed for sessions with additional seating options, this space is also where I hold sandtray sessions and intakes for minors, providing a setting that allows for more movement and expression.

Both offices, as well as the waiting area, use lamp lighting instead of harsh overhead lights, offering a warm glow that reduces sensory overwhelm and prevents headaches.

Comfort & Regulation

Therapy is a space for you to show up as you are, and I want to make sure you feel empowered to meet your own needs during sessions. Within easy reach, you’ll find:

  • Blankets (including a weighted blanket) and a variety of pillows in different shapes, textures, and sizes to help you get comfortable

  • Fidgets to support focus and regulation

  • Sticky notes and pens for jotting down thoughts, reminders, or reflections

  • Tissues—because sometimes emotions come unexpectedly, and that’s okay

Time & Transitions

As I referenced earlier on this page, I intentionally schedule at least 15 minutes between sessions, allowing for a smoother transition between clients and reducing the likelihood of running into others on your way in or out. This time also ensures that I can be fully present and prepared for each session.

To provide a greater sense of control over time, I keep clocks in various locations around the room. This allows both you and me to keep track of our time together without needing to wonder how much is left—helping you feel comfortable knowing when there’s enough time to dive into something new.

Finding the Office

I know that arriving at a new place for the first time can be stressful, so I provide detailed instructions on where to park and how to find my office suite ahead of your first session. My office window is clearly marked with my practice name and ammonite logo, making it easy to identify when you arrive.

Accessibility & Location

My office is located on the second floor, with access by both stairs and a centrally located elevator. If you need to use the elevator, please let me know in advance—I can provide more specific directions to help you easily navigate to my suite.

Whether you’re settling in for a session or simply taking a moment in the waiting area, my goal is for this space to feel like a quiet retreat—a place where you can pause, process, and take care of yourself.
